In the absence of Treasurer Charles Bovaird, the financial and membership reports were omitted.

RC lease and APCUG CD-ROMs

There has been no known contact from the Senior Housing Authority regarding the lease of the Resource Center. With respect to the CD-ROMs ordered from APCUG, we were informed that they have been edited and were to be checked out and sent to a manufacturer in Canada for production.

Community college seeks instructors

Similar e-mail letters from David Chrzanowski, Director of Professional Development for the Extended Studies Department at Norwalk Community College, received by several members of the Board, were reviewed and discussed. The immediate purpose of Mr. Chrzanowski's letter was to seek instructors for planned courses in computer technologies for professionals and those seeking new career skills such as programming, Web design, graphics, etc. Additionally, he was exploring the possibility of any partnerships between DACS and NCC. Larry Buoy agreed to reply to Mr. Chrzanowski's letter with suggestions that 1) he place an ad in dacs.doc listing his instructor requirements; 2) consider presenting the job opportunities at a General Meeting and possibly supplying fliers for distribution among DACS members; and 3) suggest continuing dialogue regarding opportunities for partnership activities.

DACS/Gartner connection

President Ostergren advised that he had put out some feelers toward establishing a relationship between DACS and the Gartner Group. Without knowledge of any specific areas in which DACS and the Gartner Group might mutually benefit, he stated that he would follow up with Gartner contacts and would welcome any suggestions as to possible areas of cooperation.

A true record.

ATTEST:

Lawrence Buoy
Secretary
