There will be lots of photo apps at the September 5th general meeting of Danbury Area Computer Society. The program will feature Ixla, an Australian-based digital photography company. The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. at Danbury Hospital Auditorium, and as usual it will start with a question and answer session followed by a brief discussion of club current happenings. The main presentation will take place at 8 p.m. Gary Coles and Kevin Brooks, both residents of the Greater Danbury Area will demonstrate the advantages of the Ixla digital camera, as well as the different photo manipulation software the company offers.

In addition to its digital camera, Ixla offers Photo Easy in both standard and deluxe versions, a program that easily downloads photos from cameras & scanners, catalogs and manages images, enables the sharing of photos with friends & family over the web, retouches and enhances - even fixes red-eye. It also lets users warp, twist & stretch photos for creative fun, and create exciting custom calendars, postcards, etc.

Also to be demonstrated is Web Easy, which enables a complete novice to create and publish a web page in less than one hour. Web Easy can be used for home, business and school; it adds images directly from your digital camera or scanner and has drag-and-drop simplicity.
Another program to be featured is the Ixla Explorer, which catalogs, stores and views photos, sounds and video. With this program it is easy to E-mail photos to friends, family, clients and customers. It automatically grabs photos from the Internet and features drag-and-drop simplicity. It connects to your digital camera or scanner, and includes 5,000 royalty-free images.

Both Gary and Kevin will also talk about the Club Ixla. The Club, among many of its benefits, lets users who are away from their office or home computers upload images to the Club to be retrieved upon their return.
