Directors' Notes

October 11, 2004

Due to lack of a quorum, the Regular Meeting of your Board of Directors scheduled for Monday, October 11, 2004, could take no official action. However, those present (Marc Cohen, Bill Keane, Bruce Preston, Jim Scheef and Jeff Setaro, plus Secretary Larry Buoy) indulged in a discussion of future programs for General Meetings.

The present General Meeting presentation schedule now consists of Microsoft on its Media Center PC configuration for November, John Patrick on the state of the Internet for December, and that, for January, Howie Berger had a representative of Verizon Wireless lined up for January on Broadband access for cell phones and alternative technologies. Mike Kaltschnees’ presentation on blogging would be deferred to February.

Jim Scheef also announced that he had another response to his “DACS wants you” ad in the newsletter, again involving a possible addition to the newsletter staff. Jim also mentioned, followed by a discussion, the possibility of DACS assisting other local non-profit organizations with computer problems.
