Microsoft Uncovers Its Apps

Image: Windows Media CenterThis is your agenda for November 2nd: Get up earlier than usual and clear your conscience at the voting booth—for with the polarized issues of the time you probably know that every vote is important. And after voting go to work and try to get out early enough to make it to the other important event of the day, the DACS November general meeting.

This November as in previous years, Microsoft is coming to DACS to unveil its newest software toys. If past Microsoft events are any guidance, this one will be lively and enthusiastic, with interesting content, on time delivery and excellent door prizes.

On November 2nd, Richard Katz will talk about having more fun, learn and explore, keep in contact and increase productivty with your computer. He will talk about discovering how to “experience more of the photos, music, television, movies, and games with Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005”. He will also talk about an important topic of the day, on keeping safe and secure with Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2.

According to Microsoft: “Windows® XP Media Center Edition 2005 is making it easier to experience the broad range of digital entertainment including TV, music, photos, music and games.” And “When connected to a home network, Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 can become a hub for entertainment, providing you with access through connected devices in any room in the home, or through portable players on the go.”

November 2nd, 2004 will be a busy day. Try to fit in all activities of the day and if you have any energy left, you might even want to attend the best kept secret at DACS: the meeting after the meeting, the PIG SIG. I know I will try but I’m not sure about the PIG SIG since it takes place way past my bed time.

The meeting will be held at Danbury Hospital auditorium as usual at 7.00 p.m, and is open to the public. Following Random Access and club announcements, the Microsoft presentation will start promptly at 8.00 p.m.
