Subtracting a liability of prepaid dues in the amount of $6,850.00 left a net equity of $8,163.54. He also reported that the current membership is 353, the same as last month.
The confirmed General Meeting topics for the remaining months in 2005 are: for June 7, Astronomy by Parker Moreland; for October 4, Organizing your Hard Drive by Gene Barlow; for November 2, Microsoft; for December 6, The Future of the Internet by John Patrick.

A discussion of future General Meeting programs began with Jamie Yates asking when was the last presentation done on Computer Security. Jeff Setaro responded that he presented this topic last August. Jeff said he would update his presentation to include new security threats including an overview of phishing, pharming and root kits, and can do this presentation in July.
Howard Berger suggested the idea that the Special Interest Groups talk about what they do. Jeff suggested that we contact the SIG leaders to find out who would be interested and see if we can get 3 or 4 different SIG leaders to present. It was decided that this topic should be presented in August.

Another idea for the September General Meeting would be ‘Software You Can’t Live Without’. Jamie Yates offered to talk about Roboform a password manager program. Bruce Preston said he might talk about a text editor program called Textpad. Marc Cohen offered to talk about SunClock. Jeff Setaro thought shareware for the MAC should be included.

Richard Corzo is going to contact someone from the Apple Consulting Network to request a presentation. Bill Keane is also going to check with SCOSA to see if he can get in touch with an Apple representative.

Gloria Arnold has volunteered to to be the DACS Public Relations representative, provided she gets some additional hands to help.

Jim Scheef said he is going to send out an email telling people how to register for the upcoming C3 Expo at the Javits Center on Tuesday, June 28th thru Thursday, June 30th. The registration code published in the newsletter will get you in for free. He reported that we don’t have to pay for tables or chairs.

Jim Scheef reported that the battery for the UPS in the Resource Center needed to be replaced and that he would research the best option for purchasing a new one.
