Board of Directors Minutes
April 9, 2007

A regular meeting of your Board of Directors was held on Monday, April 9, 2007.  Present were Charles Bovaird, Richard Corzo, John Gallichotte, Sean Henderson, John Lansdale, Lisa Leifels, Rob Limbaugh, Patrick Libert, Christine Novell, Jim Scheef, Jeff Setaro and Jamie Yates.  As a special welcome to our new president Rob Limbaugh, some of DACS former officers including Dick Gingras, Ed Heere, Tom McIntyr, and Allan Ostergren, attended the meeting.

President Rob Limbaugh presided and Secretary Lisa Leifels kept the record.  Minutes of the last meeting, held on March 12, 2007, were approved.

Treasurer Charles Bovaird reported current cash assets of $9,227.88, consisting of total bank and postal accounts in the amount of $9,155.45 plus postage on hand of $72.43.  Subtracting a liability of prepaid dues in the amount of $5,798.00 left a net equity of $3,429.88.  He also reported current membership of 264, of which 60 are electronic.

Christine Novell communicated that Marcy Kremer from Smart Computing will be doing a presentation at the May 1st General Meeting.  Christine has a long list of ideas for future meeting topics some of which are HDTV, RFID, Medical Technology, eBay and Linux.  The challenging part of her job is finding a knowledgeable speaker willing to commit to do a presentation.

Rob Limbaugh reported that during the past few weeks, he and Jim Scheef have been working towards the deployment of infrastructure resources in the DACS Resource Center to support DACS operational needs as well as to provide real 'resources' to the members.

A virtual server host system has been built and is currently running a virtual domain controller and the base of what will become the virtual e-mail server. Norton Anti-Virus Corporate Edition has been installed and deployed on these resources. In the coming weeks, Rob and Jim plan to have the environment set up for a web-site development/staging area and internal collaborative resources for operations purposes. He estimates that they may have this ready as early as April 30, 2007 if their work continues at the same pace .

Sean Henderson passed out copies of slides highlighting the results of the Focus Group which he is planning to present at the next board meeting.
