Identity Theft

by Patrick Libert

Identity theft is one of the more frightening security breaches. Are my namesakes in other parts of the world a mere coincidence or are they impostors? Do I really have as many relatives with the same name?

Find out how to prevent this illegal cloning at the next DACS General Meeting, on Tuesday October 2, 2007. We will have the great pleasure of welcoming as our speaker Mr. Philip Chen, an engineer from Hi-Link Computer Corp. in Stamford, Connecticut.

Hi-Link Computer Corp. has been providing Information Technology Solutions for clients in the Tri-State area for more than 16 years. Their team of engineers provide solutions for many markets from local governments to small and mid-size companies.

Mr. Chen will review a number of identity theft methods each of us face almost daily. He will mention examples of both personal and corporate cases of this abuse and he will most likely touch upon some of the following points:

  • Firewall and end-point solutions
  • Intrusion detection and prevention
  • Wireless security and management
  • Penetration and vulnerability testing
  • Developing Computer Security Policies, Security Models and Mechanisms, and Physical Safeguards
  • Security solutions for satisfying business and personal requirements

Invite a friend or neighbor for a fun and informative evening.

DACS meetings are held at the Danbury Hospital auditorium. (Click here for directions.) Activities begin at 6:30 p.m. with registration and casual networking. The meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. with a discussion of what’s new in technology (What's News) followed by a general question and answer period (Ask DACS), announcements and a short break.
