Program Preview:
Sharing Your Digital Media

by Flo Ferrara

DACS is very fortunate to have Ken Graff, leader of the Digital Imaging SIG, volunteer to give the June presentation. Entitled ‘Digital Wizardry: The Art of Sharing Your Digital Media,' this presentation is most timely; especially for those of us who will take hundreds of photos this summer alone. At events running the gamut from graduations, family reunions, weddings and vacations, cameras will be clicking in high gear. People of all ages “teenagers to grandparents” are getting in on the digital camera action. But, while more and more pictures are getting taken, fewer are getting shared. In fact, most of the pictures remain on the memory card of the camera; or, if you are like me, on the hard drive of the computer.

Ken will show us how to make use of free software and resources available on the Internet to inspire and instruct. Attendees will learn to make the most of their digital creations. Included will be how to organize, correct and most importantly share images with family and friends.

The audience will gain knowledge of how to create digital photo albums, slide shows, scrapbooks, animations, special effects, and more! So round up all the people you know who fit the profile of digital media hoarder—neighbors, family and coworkers and join us on Monday evening, June 2. Their family and friends will thank you for it!

DACS meetings are held at the Danbury Hospital auditorium. (Click here for directions.) Activities begin at 6:30 p.m. with registration and casual networking. The meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. with a general question and answer period (Ask DACS), announcements and a short break. The featured evening presentation begins at 8:00.

As a reminder, our General Meetings are free and open to the public so invite anyone you know who would be interested in this topic.
