Program Preview:
Smart Home Technologies
Many years ago a 'smart home' was the futuristic idea that
your lights could come on at a predetermined time. The grass
would be automatically watered. A security system knew when
to be armed. Elaborate systems supported the notion that your
dinner could start cooking while on your way home from work.
Kitchens would keep track of your food inventories.
In today's world, our myriad of gadgets and devices are converging.
The emergence of home networking has made a connected lifestyle
possible. If you never learned to program your VCR, that's OK—thanks
to home networking you don't need to know such trivial details.
Mark Britton, founder of Media Stratego (http://www.mediastratego.com)
will help us take a deeper look into today's residential electronic
technologies. Mark has over 20 years experience in engineering,
designing, and managing deployment of technology laden environments.
There has never been a better way to elevate the quality of
life while spent at home then through the pragmatic use of innovative
residential technologies. Technologies meant to provide peace
of mind, increased comfort, conviviality and a greater sense
of being "connected." Mark Britton, president & founder
of Media Stratego, will increase your insight & understanding
on the latest & greatest tools & techniques available
to you for living out your own unique "electronic" lifestyle.
Topics to be explored include the latest in:
- Digital Entertainment
- Remote Energy Management
- Security/Health/Safety
- Communications & Computing
- Integrated Control & Automation
- Structured Wiring & Wireless Infrastructure
Mark will also explain why the home automation and technology
systems markets are exploding in growth. It is no longer confined
to luxury installed or "do it yourself" systems. Join
us this November and prepare to be amazed to find out how close
to having a "smart home" you already are!
