    -  Possible future topics:

    -  AAII American Association of Individual Investors - Andrew to contact
    -  David Pogue - Patrick will try yet again to contact him.
    -  How to select and install a TV tuner within computer, streaming, Netflix, etc. and video editing - Andy has possible presenter in mind.
    -  Smart Computing. They offer a Presentation-In-A-Box.
    -  Analog to digital recording
  2. Open positions
    -  The membership chairperson position is still open.
    - The VP of Programs duties will be assumed collectively by the board.
  3. DACS communications infrastructure update: Jim arranged and Rich DiFranco let an AT&T service rep. examine the phone line.  He replaced the circuit within the building.  However during the board meeting the Skype call broke on an average of every 3 minutes.  We are going to investigate transferring the DSL to AT&T so as to have single-source responsibility.
    - We decided to proceed immediately with use of the new Google Voice number 203-744-9198 as the only published telephone number for DACS.  We already have this number, which Rob Limbaugh obtained a year ago.  We will list it on the website and in the newsletter, and we will describe it as the “DACS Answering Machine” or similar.  Patrick Libert will put this in the next newsletter.  Andy presented a proposal on how to handle the messages from this number, but we modified the plan substantially from Andy’s proposal.  We decided that at least two people will monitor the automatically generated emails that contain Google Voice messages.  When one of these people handles a message, that person will email the other that the message is handled.   Initially, these two people will be Richard Corzo and David Green; this may change in the future.  Andy will set up email forwarding or provide the email account password to Richard and David, according to their individual preferences about how they would like to monitor the emails.  Andy proposed setting up an additional email account that would also receive and archive forwarded messages, but we decided not to do this step.
  4. Andy, Jim and Drew will meet to put together the display.
  5. Dave Green took care of the insurance policy renewal. PDFs of the 2010 and 2011 policies are available.
  6. During the discussions on General Meeting topics it was decided to publicize that we are doing 'series' or 'themes'.  There are two series at present:  Security and Music.  The security series consists of Jeff's anti-virus/malware presentation, the safe e-commerce presentation from Fairfield County Bank Corp, and the software presentation by the Avast! representative.  The music series will be two general meetings - Bruce's LP to CD/MP3 (Analog to digital) which is targeted towards audiophiles - listeners if you will, and Andy's presentation which will probably be in October or November and deal with creation of music, mixing, editing, laying down multi-tracks etc.  This will then be a natural lead-in to Sean Henderson's annual SIG session in November.

New Business
1. 2010 income report and 2011 budget - David provided, Andy to review.
2. Recent dacs.org unavailability surface a problem - the domain "A-record" points to our VM site, Bluehost automatically moves it to their site periodically.  We have a temp fix, ultimately we should move the site to Bluehost.
3. Current calendar relies upon ASP, new system works with PHP instead, which should be a smooth replacement.
4. Facebook page - we need to get link to DACS.ORG web site to be highly visible on the Facebook page.  Meeting announcements should also draw people to the web site.
