July General Meeting

DACS own take center stage in July

For its July 6 meeting, DACS is taping into the resources of its own directors. We will have the opportunity to see what Wally David, DACS Chairman, has in his sleeve when he is presenting one of his famous surfing safaris. Past surfing safaris have entertained, informed, surprised and even perplexed us. Come and see what topics Wally will be surfing on the Internet from Danbury Hospital Auditorium.

The other speaker will be Jeff Setaro, a virus guru who wears many hats at DACS. With several computer viruses and worms giving scares recently, Jeff will make sense of the chaos by keeping us informed how best to avoid viruses and how to protect our computers. Jeff will explain the proper software to use and steps that will keep our computers bug free and very importantly, peace of mind. Time for questions will be allotted and members will have the opportunity to ask their most pressing questions.

DACS general meetings, held on the first Tuesday of each month at the Danbury Hospital auditorium, 24 Hospital Avenue, are free to the public. The meetings start at 6:30 p.m. with casual networking. At 7 p.m. join Random Access, a short question-and-answer session during which members share computer problems and solutions. A brief business meeting and the main presentation follow at 8 p.m. As a DACS member you will receive the monthly award-winning newsletter, dacs.doc. For more information about DACS and its SIGs (Special Interest Groups), which meet throughout the month to discuss specific computer topics, see http://www.dacs.org, or call the DACS Resource Center at 203 748-4330.
